KMPDU is the trade union that represents all Kenyan doctors - doctors here referring to all holders of Bachelors of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB), Bachelors of Pharmacy (BPharm) and Bachelors of Dental Surgery (BDS) degrees or higheror their equivalents from other recognized Universities.

Young Doctor Dies For Lack Of Dialysis

On Friday 6th May 2011, a patient passed away while in transit from Kiambu District hospital to Kenyatta National Hospital to receive dialysis. He worked in Busia DH and had gone to Kiambu to visit his parents. During this break he developed severe malaria and two days later he had developed acute renal failure

For decades, the Kenyan doctor had suffered and worked under circumstances that were at best to be abhorred. Disillusioned, many chose to leave hoping for a better future for their families elsewhere. Inevitably something had to give.
